To the long time cricket fan, there is usually a feeling of unease about the one day games that follow a Test series. It is as if, having scoffed your way through four or five huge main courses, you are suddenly forced to eat half a dozen amuse bouches before being allowed to go home. 'One more wafer thin ODI, M. Cricketfan?'
At the start of the summer, the chance to see the current world champions in the shortest form of the game play the side they deposed was an enticing one, especially as they would be games played under the very conditions that Pakistan won their title. Now, with each side shorn of their star performer in that form, the games are inevitably diminished.
In fact, the PCB had their thunder comprehensively stolen this evening when the ICC announced that it was suspending all three players under Article 2 of the Anti-Corruption Code. The Metropolitan Police then weighed in and announced that all three players would be interviewed by them early tomorrow morning.
